10 Hobbies for Gifting

The Holiday Season is here! We are discussing our Top 10 Hobbies for Gifting - listen to us discuss in Episode 11!

1) Felting

We covered felting in Episode 3 and we both were BIG FANS. Create your friends and family a festive friend or gift them a kit to make their own

It’s no secret, this is one of Jude’s favourite hobbies and it was the topic of Episode 8! Find a fun kit to make yourself or gift an embroidery kit to your crafty friends.

3) Bullet Journaling

Perfect for starting the New Year! Bullet Journal will be covered in Episode 12 and we think giving someone a “Bullet Journal Kit” is a great way to customize this. Pick a journal they’ll love, some stickers that suit their personality and some great pens and you are good to go.

4) Origami

Not a hobby you might think of, but we love the idea Jude suggested - take origami strips, write something you love about the person and fold into a lucky star. Put the coloured stars into a glass jar or vase for them to display and love. If someone is crafty, you can also gift an origami kit!

5) Bath Bombs

Episode 10 was the BOMB! We recommend this as a hobby you gift the final product of. Bath bombs were easier to make than expected and we love the idea of creating a custom creation for your friends. Use colours and scents to create a perfect bomb and name it something fun.

6) Alcohol Infusing

Get a bit boozy with us on Episode 9 - and gift some infused alcohol! We love a consumable gift and this is a great option. Use something you love, something you grew in your own garden or just something cool and infuse alcohol to give to a friend. Another option, give an infusing kit! Get a little bottle of alcohol and some infusables, package it up and give as a DIY (we recommend creating a little card with info!).

7) Sewing (masks)

Masks are here to stay and more often are being included as a fashion statement. If you are a sewer, or someone you know it, sewing is a great gifting hobby. Find fun prints online and make something your family will love (and help keep them safe) or, buy a mask-making kit for someone you love.

8) Cards

While we’re far apart, cards are a bit more important now than they were in the past. That being said, store-bought cards can get pricey so making your own is a great way to create something beautiful and save! Use items from around your home, paper from the Dollar Store or find something great at your local stationary store.

9) Shortbread

Mmm baking. Shortbread is a holiday favourite and again, we love a consumable gift! Off-show, we made Millionaire Shortbread, a Scottish fav that includes shortbread, caramel and chocolate ganache. It was DELICIOUS and made a great gift for friends who were unable to be with their families this year.

10) Mulled Cider

Cheers to the holidays! Give the gift of a pre-mulled cider in a sealed bottle or give cans of cider along with spices for your friends to crate themselves.
